Print DPI and PPI calculator

Provide any two parts of pixels = inches × PPI and calculate the third locally with exact unit factors.

Three equations, one relationship

DPI and PPI calculator formulas

Pixels = inches × PPI; inches = pixels ÷ PPI; PPI = pixels ÷ inches.

Pixels to print size

3000 × 2000 px at 300 PPI = 10 × 6.666667 in (25.4 × 16.933333 cm).

Print size to pixels

210 × 297 mm at 300 PPI needs 2481 × 3508 px after each dimension rounds upward.

Effective PPI

2400 × 3000 px placed at 8 × 10 in = 300 × 300 PPI.

For image sizing, PPI means pixels per physical inch. Image PPI is not the same measurement as a printer's hardware DPI.

DpiCalc solves pixel arithmetic only. It does not inspect files, resample, crop, add bleed, predict perceived quality, or equate source PPI with printer hardware DPI.
